Health Data Hub: a data catalogue at the heart of the website
For the French Health Data Hub, a modular editorial website and a data catalogue described by more than 150 metadata fields, with advanced search and bank-grade security.

Context
Making health data visible, and access to it clear.
A public interest group, the Health Data Hub implements the strategic guidelines for the French National Health Data System (SNDS) set by the ministry in charge of health. Its website speaks to citizens as well as data users and data controllers: it presents the catalogue, the projects and the service offering.
Our answer: a page-builder Drupal site and a finely described data catalogue, hosted on Platform.sh. We developed it, then maintained it.
The platform
What the site makes possible.
A modular page builder
The editorial site is built entirely from blocks, without technical help.
A described catalogue
More than 150 metadata fields describe the data in the catalogue.
Advanced search
One index covers both editorial content and the associated metadata.
A project register
The project register is fed by file upload, with no re-keying.
An entry point per audience
Citizen, data user or controller, applicant: everyone finds their way in from the header.
Bank-grade security
A level of rigour fit for a public health data platform.
The architecture
A secure Drupal, designed for data.
Drupal
The foundation of the editorial site and the catalogue.
Apache Solr
The search index over content and metadata.
Redis
An application cache for fast pages.
Platform.sh
The platform's hosting, with Bootstrap for the interface and exchanges through a REST API.
