An ecosystem of business applications for HVAC professionals

Takeover of the professional website, design of PrescryMe and Guide ME, Trophées 3 Diamants platform, SSO portal and application portal: Neovia builds and maintains the digital ecosystem of the heating and air-conditioning division.

Context

A whole ecosystem, not a single application.

Mitsubishi Electric's heating and air-conditioning division serves professionals with distinct jobs: engineering firms, architects, installers, distributors, project owners. Each expects tools that speak their language: selecting a solution, writing a specification, accessing product documentation, managing their access.

Since taking over maintenance of the professional website, Neovia has built a complete ecosystem around it: a product documentation area, an intranet for exchanging documents with project owners, two business applications, PrescryMe and Guide ME, an entry platform for the Trophées 3 Diamants, a single sign-on portal and a launch portal for the group's applications. All of it is maintained by the same team, which knows every building block.

The relationship

From a website taken over to an ecosystem built brick by brick.

  1. Takeover · Professional website

Taking over an existing website and making it evolve

Neovia takes over the maintenance of Confort Entreprise, the Drupal website for professionals: audit, stabilisation, then continuous evolution of the product catalogue, documentation and editorial content.

  2. First mission · Documentation area

    Product documentation in one place

Our first mission after the takeover: a documentation area bringing together the documentation for the brand's products, so every professional quickly finds the data sheet, manual or technical document they need.

  3. Intranet · Project owners

    Exchanging documents with project owners

An intranet area reserved for project owners, to share and exchange their project documents with the brand's teams.

  4. First application · PrescryMe

    The specification editor

First React application plugged into the website: the specifier assembles their system and gets a Word specification filled in from product data. Scoping led by our production director, data model workshop with the product teams, then sprint-based development.

  5. Event platform · Trophées 3 Diamants

    Entering the competition online

Between the two applications, Neovia delivered the entry space for the Trophées 3 Diamants, the competition rewarding projects equipped by the brand: multi-step application file, attachments, progress saved until the closing date, e-mail reminders and image-rights approval by the project's three stakeholders.

  6. Second application · Guide ME

    Solution selection support

On the same product repository, Guide ME compares the heating, air-conditioning, ventilation and domestic hot water solutions for a project. Workshops with end users, step-by-step journey and PDF report.

  7. Portals

    One identity for every application

An SSO portal federates authentication for legacy and new applications, and a launch portal gives each professional access to the applications of their profile.

  8. Since · Maintenance of the whole

One team for the entire ecosystem

Website, applications and portals are maintained by Neovia: version upgrades, security, functional evolutions and support, with an overall view of the dependencies between building blocks.

The business applications

Two tools that save specifiers time.

PrescryMe and Guide ME share the same product repository as the website. Technical data, imported from the product teams' files, feeds the catalogue, the specifications and the solution comparisons alike.

PrescryMe · The specification editor

The specifier assembles their system: outdoor unit, indoor units, remote controllers, accessories, variants and options. The application generates a technical specification document in Word format, whose texts and value tables are filled in automatically from product data.

Guide ME · Solution selection support

From the building type, floor area and climate zone, Guide ME proposes and compares heating, air-conditioning, ventilation and domestic hot water solutions: investment, operation, environmental impact, acoustics. The report downloads as a PDF.

A shared product repository

Ranges, models and technical characteristics are managed in Drupal and imported from spreadsheet files. The applications consume them through an API: a single data source for the website and the tools.

React interfaces tailored to real use

Step-by-step journeys, real-time summary, resuming a project in progress: the interfaces were designed in workshops with end users, then integrated into the professional website.

Guide ME

The screens of the solution selection tool.

  • Guide ME, Solution / Comparison step, Selected solution tab: list of the project's equipment with its energy indicators and a summary banner for the selected solution
Solution / Comparison · Selected solution
  • Guide ME, Solution / Comparison step, Investment tab: breakdown of the project's installation costs in pie charts, with a reminder of the building under study
    Solution / Comparison · Investment

The portals

A single identity for all the group's applications.

The SSO portal

A single sign-on service, built on OpenID Connect and Auth0, covering both the group's legacy applications and the new ones. Security rules are automated: account validation, deactivation after a period without login, password renewal.

Accounts validated by the business

Each account request is qualified by a profile, project owner, architect, engineering firm, installer or distributor, and validated by a referent for its geographical area. Affiliated installers are attached to their distributor.

The application launch portal

Once logged in, each professional accesses the applications open to their profile. Mitsubishi Electric's teams manage the application catalogue and access rights themselves from the back office.

Federated authentication

Applications, new or legacy, recognise the same session: one account, one login, whichever tool is used.
